German umlauts stays inside the black border.
Original reporter is writing. I just tested again and the problem remains unfixed for me using Firefox 55.0.1, 64-bit, macOS 10.12.6. As this might be a Firefox bug should I open a ticket over there?
To make sure it's not h5p I modified the following example to include capitalized umlauts and it's not working correctly: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Apps/Fundamentals/Audio_and_video_delivery/Adding_captions_and_subtitles_to_HTML5_video
Here is my modified version: http://temp.fetzer.me/vtt/video-with-captions.html
Does the last link work for you?
Sorry, I tested it on windows, seems like on OSX it is indeed not working with the latest firefox version.
The bug is a Firefox bug and should be opened in their issue tracker.
Thanks for the extra info and investigation.
OK, I opened a Firefox bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1390105
Should this issue be marked with another status to indicate there is currently a problem with subtitles in Firefox?
I think it's fine to just close it (move to "done") and link to the bugzilla issue, like it is now. Thanks
